Abstract
A major genocide occurred in Bangladesh (then East Pakistan) in 1971. The genocide took place during Bangladesh's War of National Liberation.
This essay places the Bangladeshi genocide in the context of the Bengali people's quest for political and economy autonomy during the Pakistan regime.
